A space for women who are tired of holding everything together

Are you feeling anxious, burnt out, overwhelmed or disconnected from yourself?

Perhaps you're navigating ADHD, childhood trauma, chronic anxiety, perimenopause, or difficult relationships. Maybe you've spent years putting everyone else first, masking how much you're struggling, or wondering why life feels harder than it seems for everyone else.

Take a breath. It’s OK. I really do get it.

I specialise in working sensitively with women experiencing the effects of ADHD, childhood trauma, chronic anxiety and burnout.

My approach is warm, down-to-earth and trauma-informed. I’m not here to sit quietly behind a notebook and analyse you. I want you to feel comfortable enough to be yourself, without judgement or having to explain everything perfectly.

We’ll work together to understand what you’re going through, make sense of where it may come from, and gently find ways forward that feel manageable for you.

You don’t have to have it all figured out before you come to therapy. You can simply come as you are.

A different kind of counselling

You won't find me suited and booted with a notebook, but more likely wearing trainers and a friendly smile, with a cup of tea in hand.

I'm a warm, relatable person and, as someone with ADHD myself, I understand that life can sometimes feel anything but straightforward. I believe counselling works best when you feel comfortable enough to be yourself — without judgement, pressure or having to pretend you've got everything under control.

I won't tell you what you should do or expect you to have all the answers. We'll work together to understand what's happening for you and, where it feels helpful, explore how your past may be influencing your present.

Maybe its OK to put yourself first for once…….

“I always knew that my childhood was something I tried to block out. I was scared that if I ever tried to talk to someone about how unhappy it was, it would break me. I could tell from the start Leonie just got it and instantly put me at ease. I didn’t have to go over the gory details unless i wanted to, or felt ready, and even then Leonie made sure we explored memories in a safe way. I spent so long drinking too much, putting up with bad relationships and having no boundaries with people. What I learnt in therapy was life-changing. I realised so much of how I was self-sabotaging was because of what I had seen and experienced as a kid. It was like the more I learnt about myself, the clearer things started to become. I laughed, I cried, some weeks were really tough and others I would get those light bulb moments. Give it a try! you won’t regret it, I really do feel so much lighter”

How I can help

ADHD in women

Living with ADHD can affect so many areas of life, particularly when you've spent years masking your difficulties or wondering why things seem easier for everyone else.

I work with women who are exploring a possible ADHD diagnosis, adjusting to a later-life diagnosis, or trying to understand how ADHD has affected their relationships, emotions, work and everyday life.

Trauma work

Complex PTSD Childhood Trauma

The experiences we have growing up can continue to affect how we see ourselves, our relationships and the world around us.

Together, we can begin to explore what has happened to you and how those experiences may still be affecting your life today — without judgement and at a pace that feels manageable for you.

Anxiety and Burnout

Perhaps your mind never seems to switch off. You overthink, worry, struggle to relax or feel constantly on edge.

Counselling can give you somewhere to make sense of what's happening, understand what may be underneath your anxiety and develop ways of coping that feel more manageable.
