      <image:title>Home - Leonie Holm es Counselling</image:title>
<image:caption>Welcome! I am an experienced and accredited counsellor based in Colchester who truly gets it! I specialise in working sensitively with adults struggling with Childhood Trauma, ADHD, and Anxiety. You won't find me suited and booted with a notebook, but more likely wearing trainers and a friendly smile, with a cup of tea in hand. I came to therapy work through my own journey with trauma, ADHD, parenthood, and all the colourful events that life throws at you. I show up as myself, hopefully someone you can relate to and feel comfortable with. I will never leave you lost, sitting in silence and feeling analysed. I have extensive experience working with adults coping with the challenges of ADHD in later life, and the anxiety and trauma that often go alongside. My clients have described feeling nervous about fidgeting in sessions, going off on tangents, and interrupting in sessions; does this sound familiar? Don’t worry, I pride myself on being able to keep up with the fastest of talkers! You can swear and fidget to your heart's content, we can laugh and cry together, and hopefully work towards some real change. Shame dies when stories get told in safe places Together we can try and make sense of the past and how it’s affecting your present. You are not alone, and I would like to help; your feelings do matter. Counselling services in Colchester and surrounding areas Online | Telephone | In Person</image:caption>

      <image:title>About - My Journey</image:title>
<image:caption>Through my own personal challenges and struggles, I have a found a lived experience of Trauma has really helped me to empathize with my clients. I approach my work with kindness and without judgment, and try to remember what it feels like to be so hurt, fragile and at the end of my tether. Whether you are a burnt-out overstimulated parent, or simply feeling lonely and abandoned, trying to make sense of a relationship ending, or a childhood scattered with unhappy memories, I would like to help you on a path to a more comforting place. I embarked on a counselling journey that became life changing. Then later navigating becoming a parent and realizing I had ADHD, life became challenging in new and unexpected ways, and I had to work out the best way to move forward. I found new ways to process emotions, manage past trauma, and realized life didn’t have to feel quite so hard every day. I knew the only job I wanted to do was support people in the same way that I had been helped. I am passionate about helping people with their challenges and the power of talking therapies. So often in life, we try to do everything by ourselves, we feel we must be strong and that need for toxic positivity takes over! The past can keep us ashamed, silent, and trapped with overwhelming feelings and regrets. All these limitations and pressures we put upon ourselves only serve to make us feel more isolated and powerless. Even when we are at rock bottom, we can still feel so ashamed and worried about asking for help, and when we do, we don’t always get the response we need or deserve.</image:caption>
